Individual completion of this module is encouraged as a starting point and group discussion in the workplace or post-secondary education is also recommended, recognizing that collaboration is key to mobilizing change.

If you require mental health supports or further resources:

We hope that you enjoy this Module and hope that it will create opportunities for critical reflection, learning, dialogue and inspiration for change and transformation.

Where we seek to better support and prepare responders and practitioners who are providing crisis care, it is necessary to both equip care providers with appropriate training in these areas and develop systems in which they are able to carry out these fundamental components of crisis care to the best of their abilities.

How to Use the Module

This training module is self-directed and based on the pedagogy of Adult Learning through sharing of content, digital storytelling, participant quotes, and scenario-based exercises.

It can be used by a variety of audiences, not limited to first responders, public-facing workers, community organizations, healthcare workers, students attending post-secondary institutions, those with lived experiences and anyone seeking to learn more and improve crisis response.
